AN IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SILVER MEDAL ”FOR ZEAL”, LATE 19TH TO EARLY 20TH CENTURY - Circular silver medal with integral suspension loop, the obverse bearing a left-facing bust of Emperor Nicholas II with surrounding Cyrillic legend naming the sovereign. The reverse inscribed ”ЗА УСЕРДИЕ” (”For Zeal”) within a wreath of laurel and oak, symbolizing merit and steadfast service. The medal belongs to the well-known Imperial Russian award series issued for diligence and faithful service in civil or military contexts, typically bestowed upon lower ranks, officials, or civilians in recognition of exemplary conduct.
