A FRITZ HABER OWNED AND COMMISSIONED RJF GERMAN JEWISH COMMEMORATIVE PORCELAIN PLATE, BERLIN, C. 1920S–1930S - A porcelain commemorative plate with cobalt-blue and gilt border decoration, bearing the shield monogram ”RjF” for the Reichsbund jüdischer Frontsoldaten (Reich Federation of Jewish Front-Line Soldiers). The reverse is inscribed ”Prof. Dr. F. Haber” and marked for Rudolph König & Co., Jerusalemstrasse 5, Berlin, with decorator's mark for H. C. Hahn. The plate was produced during the Weimar period in honor of Prof. Dr. Fritz Haber (1868–1934), the German-Jewish chemist and Nobel Laureate whose scientific achievements and wartime service made him one of the most prominent Jewish patriots in Germany. The association with the Reichsbund jüdischer Frontsoldaten suggests a commemorative purpose connected with the organization's efforts to recognize and preserve the contributions of Jewish veterans and public figures to German society. A rare and historically significant artifact linking one of the twentieth century's most influential scientists with Germany's leading Jewish veterans' organization. Dimensions: D: 9 5/8 in., (24.5 cm.) Conditions: Light wear and minor surface marks consistent with age. Gilding and cobalt border are well preserved. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
