A GERMAN LION ORDER COLONIAL AWARD, C. 1922 - An Order of the Lion award produced by the Imperial German Colonial Veterans’ Union after the war for German soldiers who served in the colonies during World War 1. The badge shows a recumbent lion in front of a palm tree, his hand on a colonial soldier's hat and two crossed swords, surrounded by the text 'Fur Verdienste Um die Kolnien' meaning 'for service in the colonies'.
