A WWI GERMAN NAVAL PILOT RETIRED SERVICE PRINZEN 800 BADGE - Oval silver-gilt badge depicting a flying eagle above a naval seascape enclosed within a laurel wreath surmounted by the Imperial German crown and tied with a bow at the base. The reverse is plain and stamped ”800” on the eagle, indicating 800 fine silver. Suspended from an integral loop. The design follows that of the Imperial German Naval Aviator's Badge instituted during the First World War for personnel of the Marine-Flieger units. Dimensions: 1 3/4 x 1 1/8 in., (4.5 x 2.8 cm.) Conditions: Good overall condition with light wear to the gilt finish and minor surface marks consistent with age and handling. Reverse stamp ”800” is clearly visible.
