A GERMAN SILVER EQUESTRIAN OR HARNESS ORNAMENT DEPICTING JOHANN GEORG I OF SAXONY, 18TH–19TH CENTURY - A silver circular medallion mounted within a suspension ring, appearing as a 'Taler' coin. The obverse depicts a bust portrait of Johann Georg I, Elector of Saxony (1585–1656), in armor holding a marshal's baton, surrounded by the Latin inscription ”MICHAEL IOHANN GEORG D. G. DVX SAX.” The reverse consists of a plain circular backing plate. Conditions: Llight signs of wear, scratches and surface patina consistent with age and use. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
