A GERMAN 3RD REICH DLV BULLION PILOT’S BADGE ACCOMPANIED WITH ERNST UDET PHOTO / POSTCARD - A Third Reich period group comprising an original portrait postcard depicting Flieger-Kommodore Ernst Udet in NSFK uniform together with a bullion embroidered Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps (NSFK) breast wing insignia. The postcard bears printed identification on the reverse reading ”Fl.-Kommodore Ernst Udet” beneath the NSFK title and photographer's imprint for Atelier Contor, Berlin W 8. The accompanying wing is executed in silver-colored bullion wire with gilt accent embroidery and a central swastika roundel on a dark cloth backing. A representative NSFK display grouping associated with one of Germany's most celebrated aviators. Dimensions: L: 4 3/4 in., (12 cm.) Conditions: Postcard with minor handling wear and light surface marks. Wing showing age wear, oxidation to bullion threads, and losses to the cloth backing at the extremities.
