A WW2 GERMAN TANK DESTRUCTION BADGE IN SILVER, C. 1942 - A German World War 2 Tank Destruction Badge in silver, presented to soldiers for the destruction of an enemy tank with a handheld weapon. The badge was initially instituted in 1942, but could be given for past actions dating back to 1941. The badge shows a blackened Panzer IV tank against a silver threaded background with two black bars, and is backed on dark green cloth. Germany, c. 1942. Dimensions: 3 x 1 1/4 in., (7.6 x 3.2 cm.)
