A WW2 FREE INDIA LEGION GERMAN SLEEVE PATCH, C. 1941-1945 - A sleeve patch of the Free India Legion, showing the leaping tiger of Azand Hing against the colors of the Indian flag, the German text 'Freies Indien' (Free India) is seen at the top. The Free India Legion was a unit in the German army composed primarily of volunteers from India who were anxious to fight against Britain in pursuit of independence. They began as an Army regiment and were later transferred to the Waffen-SS. Germany, c. 1941-1945. Dimensions: W: 2 1/8 in., (5.3 cm., ); H: 3 1/8 in., (8 cm.)
