A GERMAN FAITHFUL SERVICE DECORATION, 25 YEARS, THIRD REICH - Silvered cross pattée with black enameled swastika at the center of the obverse, superimposed upon a wreath of oak leaves. The reverse bears the inscription ”Für treue Dienste” (”For Faithful Service”) in four lines. Suspended from its original cornflower-blue ribbon, mounted for wear with a horizontal pin-back bar. Instituted on January 30, 1938, the Faithful Service Decoration recognized long and meritorious service by civil servants and public employees of the German state. The silvered 25-Year Decoration was awarded for a quarter century of faithful civilian service. Dimensions: 1 11/16 x 1 11/16 in., (4.3 x 4.3 cm.) Conditions: Light wear and tarnish to the silvered finish with minor handling marks. The black enamel center remains intact. Ribbon displays light age-related wear.
