A CASED MUNICH MUNICIPAL LONG SERVICE MEDAL (DIE HAUPTSTADT DER BEWEGUNG MÜNCHEN), GERMANY - The lot comprises a bronze-toned circular medal housed in its original blue fitted presentation case bearing the Munich city arms. The obverse displays the civic coat of arms of Munich beneath a mural crown, surrounded by the inscription ”Die Hauptstadt der Bewegung München” (”The Capital of the Movement, Munich”), a title officially adopted during the National Socialist period. The reverse bears the inscription ”Für lang und treu geleistete Dienste” (”For Long and Faithful Service”) within an oak wreath. The medal appears to have been awarded in recognition of extended municipal or civic service. Edge stamped with a maker's or control mark. Dimensions: D: 1 1/4 in., (3.2 cm.) Conditions: Light wear and scattered surface marks consistent with age and handling. Minor oxidation and discoloration to the medal. Presentation case with expected wear to the exterior, aging to the silk lining, and minor losses at the corners. Overall well preserved. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
