A HUNGARIAN CHRISTIAN NATIONAL DEFENSE ASSOCIATION (MOVE) MEMBERSHIP BADGE, CIRCA 1920S–1930S - Gilt and polychrome enameled badge of oval openwork form surmounted by the Hungarian Holy Crown. The center is dominated by a white cross over a green dragon coiled around a radiant sunburst, with the initial ”K” at the intersection of the arms. Executed in gilt metal with white and green translucent enamel, the design combines Christian and nationalist symbolism associated with interwar Hungary. The badge is attributable to the Magyar Országos Véderő Egylet (MOVE, Hungarian National Defense Association), a patriotic and paramilitary organization founded in 1919 following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The dragon-and-cross motif derives from the traditions of the medieval Order of the Dragon and became a recurring emblem in Hungarian nationalist organizations during the Horthy era.
