A HUNGARIAN NATIONAL DEFENSE ASSOCIATION (MOVE) BADGE, BY DESCHLER, MUNICH - Enameled gilt-metal badge of the Hungarian National Defense Association (Magyar Országos Véderő Egylet, MOVE), depicting the crowned Hungarian coat of arms surmounted by the Holy Crown of St. Stephen, flanked by oak and wheat motifs, and overlaid with an upright sword. The blue enameled background is decorated with radiating sunburst rays. The reverse retains its original vertical pinback and is maker-marked ”DESCHLER MÜNCHEN 90” for the renowned Munich firm of Deschler & Sohn. Produced during the interwar period, such badges were associated with the nationalist and veterans' organization founded in Hungary following the First World War.
