A LATVIAN MILITARY VETERAN'S GROUPING WITH PHOTOGRAPH, AWARDS AND PRESENTATION CIGARETTE CASE - A historically interesting Latvian military veteran's grouping comprising a signed studio portrait photograph of a uniformed serviceman, a silvered and enameled Tevijas Pulks (Fatherland Regiment) badge dated 1919, a ”Par Latviju” commemorative medal suspended from a ribbon with crossed-swords device, a patriotic ribbon badge with miniature shield emblem, a silvered Latvian national coat-of-arms lapel badge, and an engraved presentation cigarette case. The portrait depicts the recipient wearing the Tevijas Pulks badge and additional decorations, linking the group to a single individual. The Tevijas Pulks cross commemorates one of the volunteer formations associated with the Latvian War of Independence. The medal inscribed ”Par Latviju 1918–1928” marks the tenth anniversary of Latvian independence and depicts advancing soldiers. The patriotic ribbon badge features a suspended shield with a crossed sword motif, while the openwork lapel badge displays the Latvian national coat of arms with heraldic supporters. The cigarette case is particularly noteworthy, engraved with numerous signatures surrounding a heraldic escutcheon and applied Tevijas Pulks insignia, suggesting presentation by comrades or members of a military or veterans' association.
