Document related to Farkas Kempelen (1734-1804), scholar and inventor. - The decision in a litigation case. György Apponyi sued Kempelen and Sámuel Klobusiczky at the city court of Pozsony in the case of a mill. The defendants built a mill on the outskirts of Pozsony, which caused problems with the water supply in the area. Apponyi demanded compensation for the damage caused to him. Since it was Kempelen's idea to build the mill dams and ditches, he had to reimburse for the restoration costs. According to the court's rule, the defendants are equally liable for compensation, and - with minor modifications - the royal board approved it.
