(Pázmány Péter transl.): Kempis Tamasnak Christus követeserül Négy könyvei - Posonban, 1648. Aksamitek Zacharias. 1pl(s). (rézmetszetes címlap)+(6)+485p. Kempis' highly influential work, which contains reflections that aid the renewal of the religious devotion, was first translated by Gergely Vásárhelyi. However, it was Pázmány's translation that became popular thanks to his much-heralded translation method. First published in 1624, this third edition is a reprint of that. The title page is the work of the Viennese engraver, Elias Wiedemann, mainly known for his series of portraits of famous men. It depicts an angel and people following Christ with crosses, and the coat of arms of the Hédervári family can be seen in the lower part. Worn, contemporary leather with clasps. RMNy 2238.; RMK I 811.
