A very fine Satsuma lidded box, Japan - A very fine Satsuma lidded box, Japan c. 1900 (Meiji). All sides, inside mirror and inside of lid decorated with matching curved cartouches with small details of nature and interiors with figural staffage. Stylized cloud bands and geometric ornament in the background. Lid with knob in the shape of a pair of bamboo tubes. Slightly rubbed in places, h. 8/D. 12.5 cm
