Guillaume Coustou (1677-1746), - Guillaume Coustou (1677-1746), after, 'Pair of horses of Marly', 19th century, bronze with dark brown patina. The original of this pair of horses with tamer was made of Carrara marble for Louis XV as an ornament for his castle in Marly-le-Roi. In 1794 the horses were moved to Paris to the Place de la Concorde; today they are in the Louvre in the covered courtyard of the Richelieu wing, known as the Cour Marly. On marble lintels, h. 30 cm.
