Franz Wilhelm Schiertz (1813-1887), from or to. Schiertz was a German-Norwegian painter who studied with Clausen Dahl in Dresden. After the revolution of 1848 he left Dresden and went back to Norway. Dramatically staged natural spectacle in a Nordic landscape with reindeer and a group sitting around a fire, as well as other staffage. An almost identical work is in the Kiel Kunsthalle.
