Figurative table centerpiece, It - Figurative table centerpiece, Italy, early 19th century, gilded bronze. Designed after the model of an antique fire bowl. Trefoil-shaped base on fully sculpted lion’s feet, with a grotesque face above an acanthus leaf in between. Above this, a three-legged structure with goat’s feet, featuring floral decoration with deer heads in the upper third. In the center, a fully sculpted Hermes/Mercury. Above, three cranes. Base signed “G. Pollice Napoli.” Typical souvenir of a 19th-century Grand Tour. Worn. H. 63 cm
