Smoking set, World War I Air For - Smoking set, World War I Air Force souvenir, ca. 1920, wood, copper, iron. Body carved from a single piece of a propeller blade, with an ashtray, cigarette holder, and matchbox holder inlaid or mounted within. Mounted on the ashtray is a so-called ”Fliegerpfeil” or ”flechette.” Solid iron arrow, such as those dropped in large quantities from airplanes and airships as weapons against enemy ground troops.
