Ubaldo Gandolfi (1728–1781), aft - Ubaldo Gandolfi (1728–1781), after “The Adoration of the Shepherds,” etching and aquatint in brown, unmentioned in the literature; in this case, it is likely a print reproduction of a drawing by his brother dated 1766, which is now housed at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York. The masterful line work and dramatic chiaroscuro are strongly reminiscent of the style of the etcher Giuseppe Zauli (1763–1822). Sheet heavily browned, slightly worm-eaten at the lower right, partially torn along the plate edge, very rare specimen, 29 x 20 cm, framed under glass and mat 46 x 37 cm
