The N.S.L.B. was the unified organization for teachers and educators during the Nazi era. The badge served as an official identifier for members. Object description Shape: Round pin badge. Design: * On a light (originally probably silver or white enameled/lacquered) background, the red lettering ”N.S.L.B.” is located in the upper third. In the center, a black depicted eagle with spread wings dominates. The eagle stands on a swastika. The swastika is flanked by two stylized oak leaves (left and right). Material: Non-ferrous metal, colored (red/black). Condition Preservation: The badge shows clear signs of age and wear. The light base color as well as the black color of the eagle and the swastika show chipping and a ”pockmarked” surface, indicating corrosion or mechanical wear. Authenticity: The uneven wear gives the piece a strong historical patina.
