Description of details: Lettering: On the white outer ring, ”POST-SPORTVEREIN” is written in gold letters, and below it, the place name ”MÜLHEIM (RUHR)”. Central motif: In the blue center of the enamel pin, a post horn is depicted, the traditional symbol of the postal service. NS symbolism: A swastika is applied to the bell of the post horn. This shows the ”Gleichschaltung” (coordination) of sports clubs during this era, in which civilian organizations had to integrate symbols of the NS regime into their logos. Additional element: Within the curve of the post horn, another symbol can be seen (possibly a stylized wheel or a sports-specific emblem), which was typical for the identity of local company or official sports clubs. Historical context: Sports clubs of the German Reichspost were widespread at that time.
