Order of the Red Star (USSR) VN 1986800 - Order of the Red Star (Russian: Orden Krasnoy Zvezdy). It was founded in 1930 and awarded for outstanding services to the defense of the USSR in wartime and peacetime. Design: A five-pointed star, red enameled. In the center is a silver medallion showing a Red Army soldier in winter uniform with a rifle. The inscription reads: ”Workers of the world, unite!” (Cyrillic). Material: The star is usually made of silver. The medallion is often separately attached. Reverse: An engraved number is visible in the fourth image. This is the award number, which makes each piece unique. Above it is the manufacturer's mark (often ”Monetny Dvor” for the mint).
