Bidspirit auction | German Reich representative fire axe
German Reich representative fire axe (parade axe) - Representative fire axe (parade axe) along with the corresponding belt/waist belt, presumably from the late 19th or early 20th century. Description Object: Ceremonial or parade axe for officers or higher ranks of the fire brigade. Features of the axe: Head: High-quality crafted metal head with a sharp blade and a hammer head on the back (pick). The condition of the metal is exceptionally clean. Shaft: The handle is painted black and decorated with brass fittings (mountings). The brass parts have eyelets, which presumably served to attach a lanyard or for hanging. Special feature: In contrast to simple working axes, this is a piece of equipment for ceremonial occasions, parades, or as part of the dress uniform. Belt / Strap: Material: Robust black canvas fabric with two striking, interwoven red stripes. Fittings: Leather trim with double-buckle closure for size adjustment. A D-ring serves to attach tools or the axe holder. Condition Axe: In very good condition. The brass parts shine and show only a slight, authentic patina. The black paintwork of the shaft appears stable.
