Air raid helmet of the second form, the so-called ”Gladiator model” (three-part version). - Air raid helmet of the second form, the so-called ”Gladiator model” (three-part version). Purpose Type: Air raid steel helmet ”Gladiator” (Model 1938/40). Features: * The helmet consists of three parts (bell, visor and neck piece), which were assembled at the factory. On the front is the striking air raid emblem (decal): A wing with the lettering ”LUFTSCHUTZ” and the central swastika. The side ventilation holes are designed as sieve perforations (7 small holes). Use: Standard helmet of the Reich Air Protection League (RLB) as well as for civil air protection (e.g. house fire brigades). Paintwork: Original, dark blue/black-blue paintwork with typical, age-related patina (slight surface rust/storage marks). Condition The emblem is exceptionally well preserved and almost complete (approx. 90-95% preserved), which is the most important criterion for collectors of this type of helmet. The body shows an authentic ”found condition” patina.
