Antique Copper Engraving Liegnitz Poland 1760 – Battle Plan Legnica Silesia Frederick the Great - Rare Copper Engraving 1760 – Battle of Liegnitz Panten Silesia Prussia Poland Militaria This is an absolutely fantastic and top-class collector's item! It documents one of Frederick the Great's most brilliant strategic victories in the Seven Years' War: The Battle of Liegnitz (1760) in Silesia. Frederick found himself here in a seemingly hopeless trap, surrounded by three enemy armies. The decorative fabric cartouche on the bottom right provides you with the perfect selling points: Title: „PLAN of the Battle of LIEGNITZ in Silesia on August 15, 1760 between an Imperial Corps d'Armee under the command of General Baron von Laudohn and a Prussian Corps d'Armee under the personal command of His Royal Majesty.“ Actors: The Imperial-Austrian troops under the famous Field Marshal Ernst Gideon von Loudon (Laudohn) against the Prussian main army under the personal leadership of King Frederick II (the Great). Geographical Details: Besides the towering city of Liegnitz (highlighted in color bottom left), the sheet shows the entire surrounding area with the Katzbach River, the towns of Panten (center of the main battle), Bienowitz, Kunitz (with Lake Kunitz), Hummel, Barschdorf, Dohnau, and the strategically important Pfaffendorfer Heights (Puffendorf).
