Large Figured Mahogany & Bronze Fitted Flatware Storage Chest, Service For 24 - Description: A large and possibly custom built silverware / flatware service chest having four fitted (two swivel) drawers. The figured mahogany top panels are surrounded by four carved acanthus leaf corner trim elements, a molded lid and lower frame also with carved corner acanthus leaf elements, and all above four pad feet. The interior is finished in a red velvet fabric, while the front panel boasts a central carved swag and jabot cartouche. The profusely relief decorated bronze hardware to the drawers and sides complements all. The lock mechanism stamped for 'JOMA' (no key). Provenance: From a Coatesville, Pennsylvania collection. Condition: Good condition, one compartment with area of green wax accretion, small surface chips to one edge.
