Robert Dudley (English, 1574-1649) Map of Norway and Russia - Description: A first edition Robert Dudley map of Norway and Russia, titled 'Carta nonna Generale di Europa' as part of the Dell'Arcano del Mare atlas, which was the first sea atlas and first atlas to use the Mercator projection consistently. This map was engraved by Antonio Francesco Lucini and published in Florence, following Dudley's exile from England.
