William & Mary Burl Walnut Veneered Diminutive Slant-Front Desk - Description: A walnut veneered and inlaid diminutive slant-front desk. Having a rectangular top over a dropfront, opening to a fitted interior, the body with four graduated long drawers supported on bracket feet. Each drawer with etched batwing brasses and an etched brass escutcheon. Pull-out lopers support the dropfront writing surface. Markings & Inscriptions: Unmarked Date: Late 17th/Early 18th century Maker: American Dimensions: 38” x 27” x 17.375”. Provenance: From a Philadephia, Pennsylvania collection. Condition: Good to condition considering age. Areas of loss to the veneer, age cracks. Brasses appear to be original.
