Palaces Pavilions and Gardens Giuseppe Castiglione Complete 20 Etchings Jardin De Flore Paris - Description: A complete set of twenty etchings published by Jardin de Flore, Paris, 1977, after the 18th century engravings by Giuseppe Castiglione, Italian Jesuit missionary in China and artist at the court of the Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong emporers. The present set of engravings depict the grounds of the Yuanmingyuan or Old Summer Palace in Beijing. Castiglione's work is known for its blending of Western and Chinese painting styles.
