Louis XVI Period Cylinder Desk, Jean-Philippe Feuerstein (French, B. 1749) - Description: A Louis XVI cylinder desk in mahogany with a galleried white marble top and a leather writing surface. Bronze-mounted turned and fluted legs on castors support the desk, which contains ten drawers and a revolving cylinder cover. Two keys are present. Markings & Inscriptions: Signed on the underside of a drawer Date: Mid to late 18th century Maker: Jean Philippe Feuerstein (French, B. 1749) Dimensions: 47.5” x 30” x 63”. Provenance: From a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania collection. Condition: Scattered exprected surface wear, repaired cracks to marble.
