Maitland and Glascoe Chippendale Style Mahogany Dining Chairs - Description: Set of eight Maitland and Glascoe chippendale style mahogany dining chairs including six side chairs and two armchairs. Each having a shaped crest over a vasiform splat, a slip-in compass seat, cabriole legs, and ball and claw feet. The hind legs of each chair joined by a turned stretcher. All with yellow fabric seats, but the armchair fabric differs slightly from the side chairs. Markings & Inscriptions: Brass plaque to the back seatrail of both armchairs Date: 20th Century Maker: Maitland and Glascoe, London Dimensions: Armchairs: 40” x 30” x 18.5”. Provenance: From a Yardley, Pennsylvania collection. Condition: Very good. Wear commensurate with age and use.
