A Pair of Cecilia Carlsson for Svenska Slöjden Glazed Earthenware Candle Holders A pair of contemporary Swedish studio ceramic candle holders designed by Cecilia Carlsson for the Svenska Slöjden workshop in Näsviken. Each piece features a tall, tapered stem with a flared circular base, finished in a vibrant blue glaze and decorated with hand-painted black polka dots. The stems are topped with stylised, sculptural figures of chickens or roosters in a white glaze, featuring bright orange beaks and red combs. The birds are individually modelled with differing tail shapes: one with a broad, flat tail and the other with a shorter, curled, upturned tail. The candle sockets are integrated into the upper back of each avian figure. The underside of one holder retains two original labels: a circular blue and white paper label depicting a blue animal silhouette with text reading SVENSKA SLÖJDEN NÄSVIKEN, and a rectangular white label printed Design: Cecilia Carlsson.
