Two decorative brass handheld magnifying glasses including a mother-of-pearl inlaid example A lot comprising two handheld magnifying glasses. The first instrument features a circular brass frame with mother-of-pearl segments inlaid around the rim, bordered by decorative twisted-wire edges. The handle is constructed from matching mother-of-pearl panels separated by brass bands. The second instrument is a traditional library-style magnifier with a circular brass frame and a turned wooden handle, possibly fruitwood, which terminates in a brass dome finial. Both instruments contain glass lenses. No maker marks, hallmarks, or signatures are visible on either piece.
