A Pair of Antique Gold-Toned Wire-Rimmed Spectacles with Cable Temples This pair of antique spectacles features oval-shaped glass lenses set within gold-toned metal wire frames. The construction includes a traditional C-style saddle bridge and flexible cable temples, designed to wrap around the ears, which terminate in small spherical ball tips. The temples are attached to the frame via simple mechanical hinges. A small stamped mark is visible on the underside of the bridge; however, the characters are not clearly legible to confirm a specific maker or metal purity. The design and form are characteristic of the late Victorian to early Edwardian period.
