A Pair of Gilt Composition Rococo Style Circular Wall Mirrors A pair of decorative circular wall mirrors featuring ornate frames. The larger mirror has a pierced openwork frame with scrolling foliate and acanthus leaf motifs, finished in a uniform bright gilding. The smaller mirror features a solid frame with high-relief scrolling foliate decoration, finished with a heavy crackle glaze effect that reveals traces of red bole beneath the gold. Both frames are made from a molded composite material. The reverse of each mirror is finished with a flat composition board backing. The larger mirror is fitted with a gold-toned metal hanging chain, and the smaller mirror has a silver-toned metal hanging chain. No maker marks or labels are present.
