Two Vintage British Lithographed Tinplate Cans including Halfords Motor Oil and Johnson's Solve A pair of vintage lithographed tinplate product cans from the mid-to-late 20th century, produced for the British market. The first item is a 1 gallon (approx. 4.5 litres) Johnson's Solve heavy duty solvent cleaner can, manufactured by S. C. Johnson & Son, Ltd., Frimley Green, Surrey, England. The black and white livery features the stylized Johnson's diamond logo and a Royal Warrant for Her Majesty the Queen. The side panels include detailed directions for use on wood, cork, and linoleum floors. It is fitted with a metal carry handle and a threaded metal cap. The second item is a 5 litre (1.09 imperial gallons) Halfords Multi-Grade Motor Oil can, produced for Halfords by Century Oils Ltd. The black livery features vertical white typography flanked by orange stylized logos.
