A LATE 19TH CENTURY GERMAN EIGHT BELL QUARTER CHIMING BRACKET CLOCK - A LATE 19TH CENTURY GERMAN EIGHT BELL QUARTER CHIMING BRACKET CLOCK, the oak case with gilt brass fish scale sound frets and brass moulded door enclosing a 7” arched brass dial with gilt spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted centre, the arch with subsidiary dials for chime selection and regulation, the eight day spring driven movement chiming the quarters on four gongs or eight bells and the hours on a larger gong. Backplate stamped ”W&H” for Winterhalder & Hofmeier. (36cm high not including handle)
