A 17TH CENTURY JAPANESE LACQUERED CABINET ON EARLY 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH LACQUERED BASE the rectangular case with brass corner mounts and carrying handles, having hinged fall front decorated in gilt with a phoenix among flowering branches opening to an arrangement of small drawers and a central lockable compartment, all gilt with birds, foliage and geometric borders, raised on a later English lacquered stand with shaped supports, lower shelf and conforming gilt decoration.
