AN UNUSUAL 18TH CENTURY LONGCASE MOVEMENT BY SAMUEL GANDY, COCKERMOUTH the 12” square brass dial with lion and unicorn spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding an engraved silvered centre, dated 1747, with subsidiary seconds and calendar dial fronting a weight driven movement with finned knopped pillars, outside countwheel and unusually small barrels, striking the hours on a bell.
