A LATE 19TH CENTURY GERMAN QUARTER CHIMING BRACKET CLOCK, the ebonised case with unusual brass crown-type pediment supporting a large bell above a glazed door with caryatid canted corners enclosing a brass arched dial with gilt spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted centre, the arch with regulation dial fronting an eight day spring driven movement chiming the quarters on the large bell above and a smaller bell mounted on the movement, striking the hours on the larger bell. Backplate inscribed 'W & H'. Comes with both door keys and the original winding key. (56.5cm high)
