A 19TH CENTURY TWO-DAY MARINE CHRONOMETER The three tier mahogany brass bound box enclsoing a lacquered brass gimballed case with 3 3/8” signed and numbered silvered dial, the Roman numerals surrounding two subsidiary dials for power reserve and seconds, fronting a signed chain fusee movement with spotted plates united by four tapering pillars, the freesprung balance with jewelled endstone and large cut and compensated bimetallic balance to the Earnshaw type spring detent escapement with maintaining power, the whole protected by a typical inner dust cover secured by bayonet fittings and with X-form blued steel spring to the underside, a tipsy winding key in the upper left hand corner.
