ONE CASED VICTORIAN SILVER BLADED FRUIT KNIFE, hallmarked for 1891 with a maker's mark for Hillard and Thomason. The mother of pearl side plates show an engraved cartouche with ”ROBT BIRD”. Attributed to the Welsh liberal politician and former mayor of Cardiff, Robert Bird, 1839-1909. Knife housed in its original fitted leather and velvet lined case showing a retailer's label of ”BARRY & SONS” who traded in Cardiff from 1841-1907.
