A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL REPEATING CARRIAGE CLOCK with gilt brass case decorated in turquoise, red and blue enamel panels, Corinthian columns and a folding handle, enclosing a masked Roman dial signed ”M. S. Smith & Co., Detroit” with subsidiary alarm dial, fronting an eight-day spring-driven movement with original compensated lever escapement and alarm mechanism striking and repeating on a gong.
