I do not find anything to write to a canaille who decided to leave us. You could have written your tragedy in Paris, and the proof is that we did start one 5 days ago, and the first act is now finished. Ah! We did call you in vain every single morning my dear friend, but nothing!´ Dumas further refers to other colleagues, to writers meetings, works and awards. To the third page Dumas has drawn an amusing profile portrait sketch of Autran. Accompanied by the original envelope in Dumas´ hand bearing to the verso a red wax seal in fine condition. With a very small hole to the drawing page, not affecting the sketch, folded, otherwise VG £100-150
