LOMBROSO CESARE: (1835-1909) Italian Criminologist and Physician. Lombroso founded the Italian School of Positivist Criminology. His theory of anthropological criminology stated that criminality was inherited, and that someone ''born criminal'' could be identified by physical and congenital defects. A.L.S., `C. Lombroso´, one page, 8vo, Torino, n.d., in Italian. The letter bears to the upper left corner a printed stamp of the ''Laboratory - Legal Medicine of the University of Turin''.
