Campbell thanks his correspondent for their letter and kind invitation, although comments 'Unfortunately I cannot accept your kindness since, oddly enough, I expect to be in Belgium at that time…..Equally, January 30th is a little tricky since I leave for Ottawa the following day and thence on to Toronto, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles and all stops east'.
