De Gaulle states in part `L´attention que vous avez eue de m´adresser l´ouvrage de votre pere “Heurs et malheurs des consuls de France a Jérusalem” m´a beaucoup touché. J´y ai pris un vif intéret et je le garderai comme le témoignage de l´oeuvre française séculaire a laquelle René Neuville s´est longtemps consacré et qu´il a si bien servie jusqu´au jour meme de sa mort´ (“The attention that you have had sending me your father´s work “Fortunes and misfortunes of the consuls of France in Jerusalem” touched me a lot.
