FABRE JEAN HENRI: (1823-1915) French Naturalist and Entomologist. A pioneer in Ethologie. Fabre was best known for his popular books on the lives of insects. A lengthy autograph manuscript signed, `J.H. Fabre´, two pages, folio, n.p., n.d., in French. The manuscript text is entitled Rotation Diurne de la Terre (“Earth´s Diurnal Rotation”), and was published in 1867, included in the series of works entitled La Science Elémentaire (“The Elementary Science”), this specific work was included in the work entitled Le Ciel (“The Sky”). The scientific work was published and re-edited more than ten times until 1920. Fold to the centre, and very small age tone, mostly to edges. VG
